Imphal, January 27:
Four persons were seriously injured when militants exploded a powerful bomb in the crowded Khwairamband market complex in the heart of the city on Tuesday.
Official sources said unidentified militants hurled the bomb at the market on Gandhi Avenue near city police station at around 9 am, injuring four persons.
They were hospitalised with serious injuries.
The militants escaped through different points.
The market complex was cordoned off and a search operation was on to trace the ultras.
Investigation has also begun to find out how the militants sneaked into the high-security area.
