The FCS Minister who was accompanied by MLA of Tamenglong A/C Khangthuanang reached Tamenglong district Hqs on July 27.There the Minister along with Deputy Commissioner T Panmei and village chairmen discussed the possible site and availability of land for construction of FCS godown as well as provision of FCS items in the district.

However, no suitable site for the proposed godown could be located.
Later, the team went to Noney and decided to construct the godown there after taking into consideration the area's proximity to the proposed railway line and other advantageous positions enjoyed by Noney in terms of transport infrastructure and security.
In addition to the existing godown of 500 metric tonne capacity at Tamenglong district headquarters and 200 metric tonne capacity godowns at Tamei, Nungba, Tousem and New Keiphundai, the Union Government has also already given it assent to construct a 12,500 metric tonne capacity FCS godown for Tamenglong district.

They informed that price of rice has reached Rs 15 per kg in the district.
To this, Erabot said that there is no shortage of rice in the State but there are cases when DCs do not demand rice.
Responding to the people's complaint of food grain shortage, the FCS Minister assured that rice quota for the months of August and September can be collected together for Tamenglong district at once.
If there necessity for more, rice quantity worth up to Rs 5 lakhs may be collected on credit, he added.

Taking serious note of a report that one MLA denied BPL and AAY rice to beneficiaries who did not vote for him while others who voted for him were availed the benefits, the Minister instructed the DC to take up stringent measures to check such discriminatory and abominable practice.
After looking into the functioning and various initiatives being taken up by the District Industries Centre and the Cooperative Dept in Tamenglong district, Erabot said that the field inspection tour was necessitated by the importance and urgency to streamline all development projects and welfare schemes.
He stated that efforts will be made to construct the DIC building and the training halls anew.
Moreover, a cane and bamboo cell will be opened in the DIC as Tamenglong district is abundant in bamboo products besides establishing a tailoring institute.
The FCS Minister was annoyed on learning that petrol and diesel being supplied to public by the only oil pump of Tamenglong district M/S Honka & Sons of AOD are sub-standard.
Samples of the automobile fuels were brought by the Minister for laboratory test in Imphal.
