Hailing Deputy Commissioner of Senapati district Dr Prem Singh for his assurance to allot a plot of land at Senapati district hqs for construction of an office building of the All Tribal Physically Handicapped Association (ATPHA) as declared during its 1st general conference on July 22, ATPHA hoped that the DC will complete all formalities for construction of its office building before the end of his tenure.
The ATPHA, in a press release, appealed to the State Government to implement not less than 3 percent reservation for disabled persons under Section 40 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act 1995.It also warned of protest movements in case the Government fails to pay heed to its demand.
It further conveyed that the Rising Day of ATPHA will be observed on August 10 at Pallel Bazar during which prizes will also be distributed to the winners of the 1st District level written quiz competition on science held on July 1.
