Imphal, September 14 2011:
Though the State Cabinet is reported to have viewed the open call of Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee (SHDDC) to the people to take to arms seriously and given necessary instruction to the Home Department to rein in the SHDDC leaders, the Additional Deputy Commissioner and OC of Kangpokpi have not received any instruction in this regard from the Home Department.
Talking to The Sangai Express, Additional Deputy Commissioner and OC of Kangpokpi said that they learnt about the decision of the State Cabinet to instruct the Home Department for registering FIR cases against the leaders of SHDDC and notifying the people for submission of licensed as well as unlicensed guns from newspaper reports.
But no instruction or order for implementation of the Cabinet decision with immediate effect has been received.
An order or instruction in this regard is awaited and since the Government has taken such a decision, consultation would be held with the DC and SP of Senapati district on what should be done, ADC Kangpokpi and OC Kangpokpi assured.
