Imphal, September 14 2011:
The Naga revenue villages of Sadar Hills have reiterated their stand not to merge or join in the creation of a separate Sadar Hills administration (district) or any other district.
According to a press release issued by Naga People's Organisation (NPO), a memorandum has been submitted to the Chief Secretary through the Deputy Commissioner of Senapati today.
The memorandum said, numerous MoUs signed between the Manipur Government and Naga frontal organizations in 1981, 1992, 1996, and 1998 must be upheld and respected to settle the present issue peacefully.
It also reminded the stance of the Naga villages made to the Manipur Government led by United Legislature Party (ULP) in 1972-73 not to merge or join in the creation of separate Sadar Hills administration or with any other district.
