While appreciating the move of the Believers' Church Bible College in launching the technology project like Concrete Biosand Filter Project, Thangso Baite, Member of Parliament (MP), outer Manipur seat, stated that it will enable the people of Manipur in accessing such technology particularly for the people who cannot afford to buy from the market.
It was stated while launching Concrete Biosand Filter Project on Wednesday in Imphal.
Stating that the Church leaders and the missionaries are the ones who are accessible to most interior parts of the state, the MP maintained that the government tries to reach the interior parts but cannot reach as the Church leaders and missionaries do.
Citing the instances of misusing their status, Thangso Baite stated, "We should be sincere and honest in what we do".
People should not stop believing the Church leaders and missionaries just because of a few chunks of them involved in misusing their status.
Meanwhile, Rev..SPrim Vaiphei stated that the main motive of the Believers' Church Bible College is to reach the most interior parts of the state.
He also stated the target of the church is to distribute atleast 20 Concrete Biosand Filters every month.
The filters would be distributed free of cost to the needy persons, added Rev..SPrim Vaiphei.
N Nganba, incharge of Concrete Biosand Filter while demonstrating the features of the filter stated that one litre water (from pond, well, hand pump) could be filtered in just 120 seconds.
He stated that it could be used for lifetime once installed.
Concrete Biosand Filter stands in tenth position in the world.
Concrete Biosand Filter is launched in collaboration with Centre for Affordable Water sensitization Technology, Canada, founder of the Concrete Biosand Filter.
