Imphal, February 08:
Laying bare the facts surrounding the kidnapping and murder of Lungnila Elizabeth, the proscribed KCP today said that the killing was committed by the Mobile Task Force (MTF) set up by KCP impostor Leibakmacha alias KK Mangang and named a host of other accomplices in the crime.
In a statement, Pibarel Mangang, publicity secretary of KCP, said that three members involved in the crime have been awarded the death sentence by the outfit.
They are the first commander of the MTF Robindro alias Telhei of Kiyamgei, RK Sanjoy of Wangoo and Krishna of Tentha Khongban.
The main accused in the case include Nando alias MK Mangang of Khanga-bok, Prem (A woman who dresses up like a man) an employee of the Home Guard Dept and then staying at Langol Housing complex and Suresh married to the sister of Prem, said KCP.
The other members of the MTF and involved in the killing of the school girl are Purnima staying near the Employment Exchange office at Lamphel, Pomila of Nongjum, Kumar of Langol, Sanayaima of Tentha and Deben alias Arnold who has a wife from Khamnam Leirak.
The outfit has urged all the people not to offer the accused shelter and not to extend any help to them.
Spelling out the developments within the KCP in the last few years, the statement said that three months before the case of Elizabeth became clear, a meeting was held with the members of the MPLF at Sajik Tampak.
The KCP was represented by its president Leibakmacha, home secretary Lamphel and general secretary Laba.
It was agreed that the KCP will re-unite which was duly announced.
After this home secretary Lamphel wanted to go to Bangladesh to bring back his family, for which the general secretary gave a sum of Rs 20,000.He was supposed to return by the 20th of the month.
However even after the date lapsed, there was no report from Lamphel, said the statement adding that after numerous reminders one person was sent to meet the finance secretary.
The messenger conveyed that Lamphel was not able to bring back his family members and asked for another Rs 20,000 to go to Bangladesh, said the statement and added that the finance secretary gave Rs 10,000 and asked that the remaining Rs 10,000 be taken from someone in Imphal.
However, Lamphel never returned and on the contrary started working under different names such as project officer, publicity and propaganda secretary and home secretary, charged the outfit.
After the KCP's name was dragged into the case of Elizabeth a special team was formed to investigate the case, said the statement, adding that the team managed to establish that the crime was committed by the MTF formed by KK Mangang.
The Rs 5 lakh ransom money received for the kidnapping of Lungnila was handed over to KK Mangang by Nando and Suresh, said the statement.
The recorded statements from the captured accused are in the custody of the KCP, said the statement.
After the facts were established, the Central Committee of the outfit convened an emergency meeting on March 25 last year and decided to remove KK Mangang from the post of president.
It was agreed that until a permanent president is elected, the post of the general secretary will look after the works of the president, said KCP.
In the light of the given facts, the call for unity issued by KK Mangang does not hold water as KCP can never sup with someone who can kill for money, said the statement.
Sounding a stern warning KCP said the accused may be pardoned if they surrender but will be punished severely if they refuse to surrender.
