Imphal, February 08:
Kuki Students' Organisation, General Headquarters has urged the Chief Minister to intervene in restoring normalcy in the campus of KSO office.
In a memorandum served to Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, Organisation president K Khongsai alleged that one Meghachandra Meitei in collusion with volunteers of AISF attacked the KSO General Headquarters office on February 6 at around 3.30 pm and removed the sign board of the student's body thus creating tension within the campus and disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of the area.
There is apprehension of aggravating the tension among the general public, the memorandum noted.
Recalling that Directorate of Vigilance had submitted an enquiry report in connection with the controversy over the possession of the plot of land where the KSO office stand, the memorandum rued that no further action had been taken up by the Govt acting on the report.
As such, delaying truth to come out and denial of justice might lead to unwanted consequences in the society, the memorandum cautioned.
The KSO would be convening a joint general body meeting on February 10 to chalk out future course of action to be taken up in case the State Government failed to restore normalcy in the campus within the next two days, it said.
Meanwhile, information and publicity secretary of KSO Thangminlen Haokip appreciated prompt action taken up by the State Government against intrusion in the office complex of KSO by AISF volunteers on the pretext of conducting leadership training without the permission of the occupant/owner of the land.
