Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh inspected the progress of the Bir Tikendrajit fly-over being constructed in the heart of the capital city this afternoon.
The flyover is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2492.95 lakhs under Union Ministry of Ur- ban Development since July 13, 2003.During the inspection, the Chief Minister was accompanied by Chief Secretary Jarnail Singh, MA-HUD Commissioner Rajesh Kumar, Chief Town Planner and other Government officials.
The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the progress of the 623 meter long fly over being constructed from near office cum showroom of Manipur Development Society at Uripok Kangchup Road to Bir Tikendrajit Road.
Officials of National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC), which is taking up the construction work are informed to have expressed confidence of completing the construction work by June this year.
Meanwhile, the CM instructed all Ministers as well as heads of various department for maximum use of funds from the State's Plan (2004-05) before February end.
The instruction was issued by the CM during a high level meeting at his office today.
The meeting was attended by Ministers, Commissioners and Secretaries.
Chief Minister while instructing the Secretaries and Commissioners to speed up the various schemes and projects undertaken by their respective Dept also asked the officials to avoid taking leaves as far as possible so as to make some progress before the end of the current financial year.
