Imphal, July 05:
The proscribed RPF and its armed wing the PLA have offered revolutionary salutes to its two cadres who were killed by police commandos on July 1.The two slain cadres are identified as Cpl Lamjing alias Meisnam Khambaton Meitei of Jiribam Kadamtala and L/Cpl Surjit alias Moirangthem Tombi Meitei of Bamon Kampu.
In a statement, the outfit today said that the two cadres were arrested by police commandos from Ukhongshang and later at about 4 pm they were shot dead at a spot in between Uyan Khunou and Yerum Ching.
For over two hours the two cadres were tortured brutally and finally done to death, alleged the outfit.
Accusing the police commandos of gross excesses, the outfit urged the public to seriously study their behaviour.
For long RPF/PLA has been standing by the principle of hot hitting out at the State forces in the belief that fratricidal killings will not serve any purpose.
The real agenda of the outfit is to win back the lost sovereignty of the land, said the outfit and added that in this scheme of things, targeting State forces does not arise.
The report of the police which talked about two indulging in extortion is also wrong.
Hailing the two late cadres as disciplined soldier who put in their best efforts for the cause, RPF and PLA shared the pain and sorrow of the bereaved family members.
