Lamka, July 05: In what can be termed as an influence of the extremely graphic images of crime circulated on the internet, the beheaded body of a Myanmarese Reverend was recovered early today at Tangnuam village, about 5 kms southwest of CCpur police station, reports our correspondent.

According to family sources, the deceased identified as Pauzakhen Tawmbing was a Reverend of the Upper Myanmar Evangelical Lutheran Church and the chief of Khenman village in Myanmar, about 2 kms from Behiang, the Indian border village.

He reportedly arrived here at around 3 pm yesterday from Myanmar and took lodging with his married daughter in Gouchinhup Veng, New Lamka.

At about 6pm, according to his daughter, the Reverend was summoned by some youths believed to be around four in number from the hotel, and thereafter his whereabouts remained a mystery.

The mutilated body was recovered only early today, a few yards from human settlement at Tangnuam village, with his hands tight at the back and his dislocated head blind-folded.

The body was found at around 7.30 am and after certaining his credentials and post mortem at the District hospital morgue, it was handed over to his family members.

He will be buried at his village in Myanmar as he has already been moved for the border village at around 3.30 pm today.

Of the nine children who survived him, two � a son and a daughter settled here on the Indian side of the border while the remaining settled with their father at Myanmar.

No organization or individual has so far claimed their hands in the ghastly homicide case, nor did the local police have any suspect to identify or zero in on the assailants as of now.
