The Liangmai Naga Katima Ruangdi (LNKR), or Liangmai Students Union, Imphal unit has appealed for a free and fair appointment of the posts of Malaria Technical Supervisor (MTS), Laboratory Technician (LT) and Multipurpose Worker (MPW) in Tamenglong district to the concerned authorities especially the health minister and the state malaria officer.
Asserting that an appointment from outside the concerned districts would be a burden for the appointed besides difficulties in performing duty due to lack of knowledge of the area, Majibuibau, president of LNKR, Imphal unit observed that a resident of the district would be the best and preferred choice for the vacant posts.
In this regard, he also informed that locals of the district sub-division be given the first preference in their area citing that a local of Nungba sub-division in Tamenglong district be given preference in his/her area.
An appointment of a Nungba local for Tamei sub-division, though the same district, would equally mean coming down to Imphal to work on daily basis, added the president.
Stating that knowledge of the local area besides the language was a much in this field of work, the president of LNKR, Imphal appealed the concerned that priorities be given to the locals of the area.
