A high school level quiz competition on HIV/AIDS was held today at Kondong Lairembi Haraobung, Moreh which was organised by Angels Care Centre, a branch of the Meitei Leimarol Sinnai Sang, Imphal under the sponsorship of Population Foundation of India.
Students from six high schools in Moreh like, St George High School, Eastern Shine High School, Moreh Government Higher Secondary School, Dr Colvin Academy, Netaji Memorial High School, and Bethel Girls' High School have participated in the quiz competition.
Speaking as the chief guest, SDC of Moreh, Ph Ibohal said that organising such competition will help in moulding the students to compete and give them knowledge
on HIV/AIDS.
He encouraged such programme to be organised in other parts of the state too.
Delivering a speech on the occasion, MC Rita, the chief functionary of Angels Care Centre said that the only preventive measure for HIV/AIDS is to create awareness.
She called upon the people to fight in unison against the dreaded virus by giving more awareness to students.The event was graced by various community leaders and students of Moreh.
The Eastern Shine School, which scored a total of 335 marks in the competition, has been declared the first position.
The second position went to St George High School.
