Manipur police has decided to send an investigation team with senior officers on July 20 to Tripura following the arrest of seven Manipur residents, including a woman, suspected to be members of insurgent outfit People's United Liberation Front (PULF) based in Manipur.
A local court today remanded the arrested persons in police custody.
They were first arrested in Sonamura on July 15 while crossing Indo-Bangladesh border illegally.
Initially, West Tripura Chief Judicial Magistrate granted them conditional bail on July 16 but they were arrested again in Agartala town last evening along with some incriminating documents.
"The seven guerrillas of People's United Liberation Front (PULF) including their self-styled army chief Mohammad Abdur Rahaman, 25, were detained from a motor stand in Agartala with some Bangladeshi mobile SIM cards and incriminating documents," said Director General of Police Pranay Sahaya.
Police said, the arrested woman belonged to the Naga community.
