With the completion of surveying 5 kms of the proposed Jiri-Tupul Railway line by officials of Railways Investigation and Technical Evaluation Rights, Geological Survey of India and Northern Frontiers Railways who have been on the field since November, the process for land acquisition has been started.
A reliable source informed The Sangai Express, that survey work of the 98 km long proposed rail line from Jiri to Tupul started from November and 5 kms and has been completed.
Accordingly, the officials concerned of the State Government have started the land acquisition process.
The Government has been extending all possible assistance including security protection to the survey team in carrying out the work, the source said, adding that the security personnel are rendering their service in flushing out anti-social elements from these areas.
Three types of survey works are being carried out and on an average half a kilometre of the tract is covered in one day, the source informed.
At this rate 10 kms will be covered in 40 days.
The areas which have been covered so far are Railway tract and search for suitable site for Railway stations.
