The pathologists and the microbiologists are the backbones of the medical world, according to Dr L.Fimate, director, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).
Dr Fimate said this in a two-day XXI Annual Conference North East Regional chapter, Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (IAPM) held in Imphal.
While asserting the importance of the good pathologists and microbiologists for the best treatments, Dr Fimate revealed that any disease is detected and also the evidences are collected by the pathologists and microbiologists.
Addressing the conference, Dr.G.N Mohanty, IAPM functional president informed that the conference is exclusively for the North Eastern states.
However, it can be considered as mini National Conference, added Dr.G.N Mohanty.
While suggesting the pathologists of Manipur to get acquainted with the rapid changes of the world, Dr Mohanty instructed them to proceed for enhancement training in the college like Indian College of Pathologists, New Delhi and obtain a certificate from the institute.
Opening a medical museum in one of the states in the North East region this year is in the pipeline, revealed Dr Mohanty.
The XXI Annual Conference was participated by several pathologists from the entire North East region.
Quite a good number of experts from different states of the country also participated in the conference.
