JDDC defers blockade

The Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC) decided to defer its proposed economic blockade on the National Highway 37.The decision for postponding the economic blockade was taken in a meeting held today keeping in view the hardships faced by the people of the state due to the ongoing economic blockades on the National Highways by SHDDC and UNC and also considering the fast unto death stir by Khundrakpam Rajkumar and Mass Relay Hunger Strikes in solidarity the fast unto death, according to a member of JDDC.
If the state government failed to fulfill its demand even after the fast unto death and mass relay hunger strike, JDDC will take up other severe forms of agitation in order to achieve their rightful demand, he added.
