Imphal, April 28 2010:
Authority failed to release a student of Manipur University arrested in the wake of professor Islamuddin murder case and detained under NSA allegedly violating an order of the Gauhati High Court, Imphal Bench.
Thangjam Lalkishore, a student of MA second year at Manipur University was arrested by the police in connection with case related with the murder of prof Islamuddin of the university and later detained him under NSA.
An order of the Imphal west district magistrate issued on June 2 detained him under NSA.
The order of the court passed by a division bench of Justice Maibam Binoykumar and Justice Mutum Binoykumar on April 19 last directed the government to release the student if there is no other FIR case involving him.
Regarding the non-release of the Lalkishore, Senior Advocate Khaidem Mani said that the court order had already received by the Chief Secretary and other authorities concern and demanded he should immediately asked his sub-ordinate concerns to take up actions to release him saying that it has been already nine days passed since the issue of the order by the court.
The act of the state government is to condemn of court order.
He will approach the court for taking up condemn of court proceeding, Mani added.
