The same project along with other projects of the police department like the construction of accommodation of the Special Police Officers, administrative building of the 6th IRB is under process for putting up for clearance of PIB through the state finance department by the state home department, the source added.
The total cost of the three projects is Rs 40 crores and out of this, it included Rs 7.24 crores for the construction of six women stations, police commando unit and women reserved lines, Rs 1.57 crores for the construction of administrative building and accommodation of SPO at Heirok in Thoubal.
State home department has put up the projects related with the constructions of the accommodations of the police stations and others with the estimated cost to the state finance commission for obtaining clearance from the PIB which is chaired by the state chief secretary.
The state government has recently decided to open the six women police stations in the districts headquarters apart from raising the women police commando units.
Recruitment of required strength of the same had also been approved by the state Cabinet in its one of the meeting recently.
Following the decision, the state police department prepared the projects for the construction of the accommodations of the women police stations, commando units and women reserved lines, the source said.
As per the prepared project reports, the estimated cost of the construction of women police station at Imphal west police district headquarters is Rs 1,43,42,441, for Imphal east is Rs 2,23,08,374, for Bishnupur is Rs 68,69,423, for Thoubal is Rs 1,47,01,743, for Chandel is Rs 71,75,793 while that of women police station at Churachandpur is Rs 70,35,884 .

The construction works will be taken up by the Manipur Police Housing Corporation.
It may be mention that delay in the plan to launch a special police officer (SPO) force at Heirok and prolong training period against the initial term of one month has demoralized 300 recruits and compelled to feel uncertain to their future fate in a recent report on Hueiyen Lanpao.
Manipur government recruited 300 youths as SPOs to raise a village protection force in April this year with an objective of opening SPO in Heirok following demand of weapons for self-defense against militants of the residences of three villages of Heirok in Thoubal.
They have been sent to Manipur Police Training School, Pangei in Imphal east for imparting one-month basic training on use of arms and decipline to be maintained as volunteers of the village defense force under the proposed SPO.
Delay in the construction of barracks and accommodation on the part of the state government compounding with the still continuing training armed session for the last more than six months even after the completion of the one-month, SPOs had now started feeling disappointment on thinking what would be there future fate.
On the other hand, state home department is also processing for seeking clearance of an estimated cost of Rs 3,47,99,446 from the PIB for construction of infrastructures for the upgradation of the Sagolmang police outpost to a police station, the source added.
