Imphal, March 22 2009: Referring to the prevailing lawless situation in the state, Sharmila Kanba Lup (SKL) in a press statement said that the state is in deep agony of same ethnic persons killing each other daily in an alarming rate.

The state security forces are intensely killing people including innocents even for their personal interest to gain military promotion.

While on the other hand, Irom Sharmila who had been undergoing hunger strike till death until the black law of AFSPA is repealed from the state since the past eight years is put into jail by the state forces to suffer.

But the state forces had been habituated to killing innocent or arrested people under the shade of this brutal law of AFSPA.

The Act has terrified the common people and mothers of the state whether her son will return home again or not if he posses with few thousands of money or bears an expensive mobile phone handset.

The current state government is also accustomed to strengthen the security forces with additional powers to kill people and place any seized arms beside the body said the SKL statement.

The SKL statement further stated that public and various civil organizations from all sphere is asking the current state government whether its intention by engaging only in construction works ignoring the killings, social breakdowns and agitation of Irom Sharmila for the past eight years is to facilitate non locals after Manipuris get extinct from the state or an effort to let the state get dominated by non locals migrating from other Indian states in near future.

Irom Sharmila is still agitating against such lawless nature of the state putting forward her demand to repeal AFSPA from the state.

Despite the whole world has respected and honored the patience and moral of Irom Sharmila with the title of �Iron Lady� the state government of Manipur, the state government is devaluing such a pride of Manipur by imprisoning Sharmila.

This ignorance is a matter of shamefulness for the state government in front of other states of the nation.

Time has for the mass to realize and act against all the odds in the state.

SKL appealed to all public to get united and not to let their conscience exchange with mere notes of Rs 500 or Rs 1000.
