MLA TH Shyamkumar who recently resigned from the Deputy Speakership and currently at Imphal Central Jail after court remanded him there has been admitted to the RIMS Hospital for medical treatment today.
Mention may be made that Shyamkumar after resignation from the post of Deputy Speaker of the state Assembly surrendered to the court in connection with old pending case with the Delhi police on April 18 last.
The court remanded him to the judicial custody till May 2 .
Owing to his heart problem, the condition of Shyamkumar become worsens and for medical treatment, SP Jail contacted with the superintendent of JN Hopsital, Porompat for treatment at the hospital.
But, stating that the hospital has no cardiologist for treating heart patient, the superintendent of the hospital suggested that it will not be convenience for the patient to admit there.
After then the SP, Jail contacted with the medical superintendent of RIMS for treating Shyamkumar on April 25 last.
He agreed to admit him to the hospital for treatment but with the condition to provide enough security for the MLA as there was no security ward at RIMS.
The MLA has been admitted at the newly inaugurated special ward of the RIMS today by deploying his personal escorts at the ward under Dr Th Sachindev.
He was admitted to the hospital at around 3.30 pm today.
Additional force from the IRB also deployed to assist his personal escort cum house guard at the RIMS hospital.
Even though his condition is not of serious, doctors of the hospital are taking care of his health.
