MPP leaders who are currently camping at the New Delhi today called on the members of the Election Commission of India including the Chief Election Officer to exert pressure for repolling in some polling stations of Andro and Thoubal Assembly segments where mass rigging have been allegedly carried out during the election to the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency on April 22 .

On the other hand, Dr M Nara of CPI who is the common candidate of the Left and Democratic Coordination Committee in the election and State Secretariat member of CPI (M) Kshetrimayum Shanta who is also the co-convenor of the Co-ordinating Committee are expected to meet the officials of the Election Commission tomorrow to urge for repolling in 16 polling stations.
According to Dr L Chandramani, who led the MPP team, during the hour long meeting with the members of the Election Commission including the Chief Election Commissioner, the representations already submitted to the ECI in connection with alleged mass rigging in 11 polling station of Andro by the Agent of the MPP candidate Mangi on April 22 as well as by the MPP candidate Th Chaoba on April 23 and by himself on behalf of the four political parties of the Manipur Democratic Alliance (MDA) on April 24 were reproduced to exert pressure for repoll in these polling stations.
Materials evidences to support the mass rigging like copy of the letter written to the ECI by the Joint CEO, the letter of the SP submitted to the ECI in connection with change of hypersensitive polling stations into normal polling stationsand deployment of unarmed volunteers of Village Defence Force without the approval of the ECI, complaint lodged by voters to the MPP on April 26 stating that they could not cast their votes as well as registration of 90 to 80 percent polling in some polling stations of Andro and Thoubal were also placed before the Election Commission members during the meeting , Dr Chandramani informed.
After giving a patient hearing to the representation of the MPP and taking serious note of the material evidences provided, the Election Commission members gave assurance on doing the needful in this regard, Dr Chandramani added.
Legislature Wing leader of MPP O Joy, MDA candidate Th Chaoba of MPP and party MLA Dr I Ibohalbi were reportedly other members of the MPP team which called on the Election Commission members today.
Meanwhile, a team of Left and Democratic Coordination Committee comprising its candidate Dr M Nara and Committee co-convenor Kshetrimayum Shanta who have already taken into confidence the leaders of the Left parties at the Centre are expected to meet the ECI officials in the afternnon tomorrow to press the demand for repolling in 16 polling stations of the just concluded election to the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
