In view of the sky high price rise prevailing in the State, Consumers' Club, Manipur has drawn the attention of the State authorities to take up necessary measures to control the menace.
A press release issued by its General Secretary Ch Nabachandra stressed on the need to open a Consumers Helpline so that the grievances of both hill and valley people can be equally heard.
He also urged the State Government to constitute a price fixation committee in order to fix reasonable prices at this critical juncture.
Nabachandra pleaded the Weight and Measures Department to open a Helping Boot as well.
Consumers' Club urged the Taxation Department to check whether shop keepers are issuing fake cash memos to consumers and check if the shops have the necessary banners.
The club also urged the State Government to appoint the vacant posts of President and member in the State Commission.
