Imphal, July 11 2010:
Noting that certain individuals have been scheming to confuse the masses by projecting KCP (MC) as a divided house, the outfit's Military Affairs secretary Lanheiba Meitei has asserted that anti-party activities of disruptive elements are being closely monitored for initiating appropriate action.
With regard to uncertainty on whereabouts of the armed group's Lanchenba Meitei, the secretary disclosed that confusing information has been received and that there is strong possibility of security forces' involvement in the disappearance of Lanchenba.
Elaborating, Lanheiba Meitei alleged that two top officials in the State police force had conveyed that Lanchenba was in police custody and his safety could be ensured only if Rs 10 lakh is paid.

Further recounting that Lanchenba boarded a Delhi to Guwahati Indigo (6E-201) flight on February 6 and information regarding his captivity was conveyed the next evening after confirmation of the arrest through another armed group, Lanheiba claimed that to ensure safety of the 'important' KCP (MC) member the demanded amount was handed over.
As the police officials holding 'key post' in the police department explained that they are under pressure from the higher ups to eliminate Lanchenba Meitei whenever of wherever he is found, the huge amount was paid only to be told on February 8 by the official duo that it was a case of mistaken identity and that Lanchenba was not in police custody.
Adding to the state of confusion is the report that Lanchenba was among the two persons who were picked up by some unidentified persons from a rented quarter in Shillong where is informed to have stayed with his nephew namely Satish on February 6 afternoon, the secretary maintained.
Quoting comment of a neighbour of the Shillong quarter, Lanheiba stated Lanchenba showed up at his nephew's place with some other persons in a red colour Tata Indica taxi and seemed to have stayed back.
However, in the morning Satish's room was found in disarray with the youngster also missing.
Circumstances surrounding the entire issue not only sends a confusing message but also leaves room for suspicion that State security forces are involved in Lanchenba's disappearance drama.
Asserting that KCP (MC) is continuous investigating the case and is hopeful of a positive outcome at the earliest, Lanheiba cautioned that individuals found involved in the matter would be dealt with accordingly.
He also denied split in the organisation and called upon the people to stay alert as unscrupulous elements had been on a campaign to taint the group's image.
Lanheiba also pointed out that with the exception of expelling a certain individual there no impediment in organisation furthering its campaign to achieve goal of the armed movement.
