National Youth Day observed

National Youth Day was observed by Manipur ex-students of Ramakrishna Mission School today at Kids Foundation, Ghari to commemorate the 152nd birth anniversary of social reformer, philosopher and thinker Swami Vivekananda.
The programme was attended by Ramakrishna Mission, Cherrapunji, secretary Swami Sumanasanandaji Maharaj, Ng Gopal Dutt, Associate Professor, Imphal College and Justice N Koteshwar, High Court of Manipur as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the function, Swami Sumanasanandaji Maharaj emphasised the need to emulate the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda particularly by youth.
Swami Sumanasanandaji said, "Society cannot develop by implementing ideas acquired from academic excellence alone.
People need to possess spiritual values as well in order to have a right conscience which plays an important role in shaping a community and society at large." Guest of honour N Koteshwar in his speech stated that embracing the teachings of Swami Vivekananda will not only elevate the society but also bring harmony and peace among the people.
