In order to preserve the cultural heritage of Manipur a three day seminar on Intangible Cultural heritage of Manipur has started from today at State Guest House, Sanjenthong.
The seminar is being jointly organised by Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manab Sangralaya, National Museum of Mankind, Bhopal and State�s Art and Culture Department.
Speaking at the inaugural function as chief guest, Art and Culture Minister Ph Parijat said the importance and significance of museum is being recognised day by day.
Museum is a store house of knowledge from where one could understand the origin of human civilisation.
The Minister also appealed to the scholars and experts to provide feedback on developmental works being taken up by the Government from time to time.
The chief guest also released a guide book on Ethnological Gallery of Manipur State Museum, produced by the State Museum itself.
Noted Manipuri writer MK Binodini presided over the function.
Speaking on the objective of the seminar, Prof KK Basa emphasised on the need for documentation of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Manipur.
