Imphal, June 20:
The identities of the two PREPAK cadres who were reportedly shot dead during an encounter with a combined force of army personnel at Hengkot under Henglep Police Station in Churachandpur district on June 15 have been established amid contradictory claims today.
The slain cadres are Sapam Netaji (16) s/o Khongnem of Khongjom Sapam and Oinam Unash (14) s/o O Sarat of Thanga Chingkha.
The bodies have been handed over to their respective families after post-mortem at the RIMS today.
The bereaved families claimed that the camouflage dresses in which the two slain underground activists were found wearing were not of their respective sizes.
According to the grieving family members of Netaji, his body was found wearing a camouflage dress, but his belt was fastened on the trouser he was wearing inside.
Netaji is reported to have left home some nine months back and joined PREPAK.
On the other hand, family members of Unash said that camouflage dress found wearing by Unash was oversize for him.
The sleeve was longer by half a feet and the waistline of the trouser was very loose.
They also claimed that there were no bullet marks on the camouflage dresses.
Unash is said to have left home while he was just 12 years old to join the outfit.
