Imphal, Jul 27:
With the 24 hour general strike called by the Naga People's Organisation coming into force from midnight yesterday, about 107 vehicles are presently stranded near Mao Gate.
The stranded vehicles include 79 loaded trucks, 10 oil tankers, 14 light vehicles, 2 LPG carriers and two tourist buses.
The NPO has imposed the bandh to protest the cuts levied by different underground outfits on the funds & goods meant for the people of Senapati district.
In another development, no vehicles plied on NH-53 today following the thrashing of students and women folk by AR personnel during a stand off yesterday at Noney.
