As a part of its campaign to impart training to farmers, UCM in collaboration with the Agriculture Department organised a training programme at Kumbi Haotak Tampha Khunou Makha Leikai community hall today.
The programme was attended by vice-president of UCM Y Chittaranjan, village elder T Shyamkishore and rodent specialist of Agriculture Department M Priyoduta as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
During the programme attended by 70 farmers from Haotak and surrounding villages, AO (Agriculture) L Sanatomba spoke on fertiliser/manure application and soil preservation while Assistant AO Ng Nabakishore dealt on green manuring.
Rodent specialist M Priyoduta spoke on rodent control.
Later, the experts gave detail explanation to the questions raised by the farmers.
Further, 160 kgs of soyabean, 130 kgs of sagol hawai and 10 kgs of mairongbi were also distributed to the farmers.
