The long and cherished aspiration of the Nungba sub-division public to witness modernity in health care and telecommunication services have materialised to a certain extent with the posting of six doctors and nurses as well as reactivation of the Nungba telephone exchange recently, informed Zeliangrong Students' union, Nungba Area.
Appreciating endeavours of all concerned in ensuring availability of such essential services in the remote sub-division of Tamenglong district, the student body further appealed to the State authorities to honour all the proposals included in the memorandum submitted to the Governor on May 10, this.
While stating that agents and contractors too have finally begun to contribute their mite in ensuring provision of BPL rice after a gap of over a year, the Nungba students' body desired that such provision be made on a regular basis as prescribed.
Pointing out its other demands, the Union prevailed upon the State authorities to instruct the transferred doctors report at their respective station at the earliest and release earmarked funds/bills to facilitate completion of pending development works in the sub-division.
