New Delhi, Aug 10:
Delhites do not know much about the life in Manipur at 9 pm.
They think it might be the same as that in Delhi.
There was a time in Manipur when the shops were opened and cinema shows ran till midnight.
Those beautiful days had gone.
And it never comes again even when there is life throughout the day and night everywhere.
The Lok Sabha MP Dr T Meinya narrated an event focussing the life of the North Eastern India in the Parliament last Tuesday while discussing and voting on the Supplementary Demands for Grants (General), 2006-07.
Dr Meinya told the House that he was called upon to join a discussion organised by the Lok Sabha TV at 9 pm.
The discussion was very interesting about the proceedings in the Parliament where the opposition brothers were boycotting or disturbing the proceedings.
The discussion was open for public to put questions and seek answers.
At that time no question was asked from the North Eastern States during the discussion.
The moderator was asking him as to why no question came on this issue.
Then he replied, "Sir, it is 9 pm; in Manipur or in North Eastern India, they shut all doors at 6 pm and go to sleep because of the law and order problem.
Nobody will be there to listen to our programme.
Only here in the capital somebody might be listening to us".
Narrating the situation, Dr.Meinya expressed, "I am very sorry to say this.
