In a unusual incident, amidst the race for the upcoming Parliamentary election, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Manipur unit office has been allegedly closed down by its unit president and sitting member of legislative assembly (MLA), Hellaludin Khan since April 3 following some problem amongst the party functionaries thus paralysing the official function of the party in the State.
Informing this during a press conference on Monday held at the residence of M Jangkhomang, the party's lone candidate of Outer Manipur constituency in Imphal, the general secretary of the RJD, Ibohalbi Meetei alleged that the president of the unit has closed down by the RJD head located at Babupara in Imphal since April 3 thus compelling the party workers to carry their duty at the candidates' resident of Imphal East.
The general secretary further alleged the president dishonoured the party functionaries for some vested interest.
He further said that apart from closure of the office, the president also released an order of suspension of the general secretary and the Secretary Organization of the party, MH Yaiphaba who are the main functionaries of the party.
This decision was taken without any unanimous decision of the party's functionaries of the State unit, he added.
M Jangkhomang, the candidate also alleged the president forced him to withdraw his nomination during the nomination period.
