Imphal, October 24 2009:
Demanding issuance of notification for fresh recruitment before October 25, the All Tribal Disable Union Manipur (ATDUM) has threatened to impose 24 chakka bandh in all the hill districts from October 24 midnight.
In addition to notification for fresh recruitment, ATDUM has also been demanding 30 days time for application, 10 years relaxation, appointment of candidates having knowledge of local dialects and direct recruitment without undergoing written test.
Decrying that repeated approach to the Government and the authority concerned and their consequent assurances have come to nought, ATDUM said that more intense agitation would be launched in case their demands are not fulfilled at the earliest.
Medical service would be exempted from the purview of the chakka bandh, said a press release issued by ATDUM.
This is the second time ATDUM is threatening agitation over the recruitment issue.
