Lamka, Aug 24:
With the their promotional avenues highly curtailed and overlooked despite years of service of 18 Sub-Inspectors (SIs) dissension is brewing within the police set-up of the State.
Expressing that their moral had been let down due to alleged disparity in promotional procedures, some senior SIs, preferring anonymity said inspite of submission of requisite documents in compliance with an order of the Joint Secretary (Home) there is no forward movement of related files.
Questioning rationale of circulating the order if requisite exercise is not to be initiated, the SIs informed that out of the 18 police personnel many are nearing service superannuation thereby causing anxiety and restlessness.
They also reminded that a ruling of the Imphal Bench of High Court on July 18 had asked the state Government to declare results of the DPC within two months to facilitate timely completion of necessary promotion procedures.
