Chief Minister O Ibobi along with representatives of All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers Welfare Association, officials of Education Department and DP undertook serious discussion on the prevailing scenario of education including +12 level at the office of the Chief Secretary for the second time today.
A statement issued by the Association informed that State officials were represented by Commissioner of Education RK Angousana, Sinam Sunderlal of DP, deputy secretary of Education M Chandramani, Under Secretary H Mathang etc.
An assurance to materialise the demands put forward by the Association was also provided during the meeting by Chief Minister Ibobi and other high ranking State officials.
It also mentioned that the Association extends moral support to the ongoing ceasework stir being undertaken by the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO.
The All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers' Welfare Association, in another press statement, while expressing moral support to the protest movements undertaken by media fraternity in the aftermath of the release of six editors held hostage by a faction of KCP, it condemned the threat to the freedom of press.
