Paying befitting tributes, the 3rd Lamyanba Yawolloi NK Sanajaoba Ningshing Numit, 2007 was observed today during a function at Kangla Hall here today.
The function was organised under the aegis of Lamyanba Yawolloi NK Sanajaoba Memorial Observation Committee with retired Lecturer of DM College of Science Ningthoujam Akendra and Chairperson of Observation Committee Dr Lokendra Arambam as chief guest and president respectively.
All those who were present at the occasion offered floral tributes to photograph of the Lamyanba.
In his address, Akendra described Sanajaoba as a true patriot and fearless journalist who succeeded in instilling a feeling against colonial rule among the people.
He was also a pioneer in his own right for the contribution he made in bringing about a social revolution.
"It is a pride for all of us that such a personality was born among our midst", he said.
Dr Lokendra Arambam said Sanajaoba was a multi-faceted personality who took up different roles, all for the cause of his motherland.
The present generation should emulate his ideals and walked on the path shown by this pioneering leader.
Retired Senior Lecturer of Moirang College Khaidem Ibocha and editor of Eramdam journail RK Bobichand spoke as resource persons.
The chief guest also released a souvenir containing the articles written by various people on the life and work of Sanajaoba at the occasion.
