Debina Longjam, a brilliant and promising girl of the Little Flower School, Sangaiprou has topped the HSLC examination 2004 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur.
Hailing from Keishamthong Longjam Leirak, Debina is the youngest daughter of Longjam Dijamani and Binodini.
Talking to The Sangai Express this evening at her residence immediately after the declaration of the HSLC result, an elated Debina expressed that her aim in life is to join the medical profession and serve the sick and needy people.
Highlighting on the problems faced by the students in the State, she appealed to all concerned to refrain from calling bandhs/strikes and also to improve the power supply system in the interest of the student community.
She also added that such disturbances not only have negative effect on the academic atmosphere of the State but also hampers the academic careers of many promising students.
Attributing her success to her teachers and her parents who have been a guiding light through thick and thin, Debina said that she regularly studies for about 3/4 hours during the school days but hastened to add that she studies for about 8 hrs on holidays.
She however said that an eight hours studytime became a regular affair after the class test conducted by her school just before the HSLC exams.
Elaboratng on her early school days, she said that she had begun her schooling at Little Flower School, IMphal and had always secured the 1st position from class II onwards till class X.
