To see whether school authorities are following the prescribed common text books or not, the Manipuri Students Federation would launch a drive from April 3.Speaking to newsmen today, MSF president Y Dhakeshore said that the student body would check all the schools in Manipur to see whether the common text books prescribed by the SCERT are being followed or not.
He added that MSF has received information that some schools are prescribing text books which are not included in the common text books.
MSF had earlier appealed to all the school authorities not to' teach text books which are not prescribed by the SCERT, added the student leader.
Publishers were also present during the meeting with media persons.
There are ten publishers who have been asked by the SCERT to publish the common text books from class I to VII, they said.
Representatives from Saraswati Book House and Public Book House said that the books they are supposed to publish are available in the market.
There may have been some inconveniences but by April 5 and 10 all the text books will be available in the market, they added.
