Imphal, August 29 2010:
NCP Manipur State unit president Radhabinod Koijam has cautioned his party workers against contractors who have entered into politics by misusing the power of fake UGs and said that it is not a good sign for the future of Manipur.
Addressing at a one day conference of young party workers under IMC Ward no.1 organised by National Youth Congress Committee, Thangmeiband Kendra at the Sanglen of Ibudhou Naothingkhong today, Radhabinod observed that entry of such persons in politics would only cost the State dear and they would not be able to save Manipur nor Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency.
Radhabinod Koijam, who is also the leader of the Assembly, said that the future of Manipur is not to be decided by New Delhi nor that Thangmeiband by other districts.
It has to be decided by ourselves.
So, every youth in Thangmeiband should be courageous and contribute their mite in shaping the future of Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency.
Money could never be the ultimate destination or the objective of life, money is only a means to reach that destination.
Alleging that individuals who were starving and depending on others earlier have constructed palatial house and come to live under the impression that they can make anybody servile with money power, Radhabinod exhorted that the youth of Thangmeiband should decide for themselves whether Jotin Waikhom, who has been warned by KCP through media for involvement in a Rs 5 crore case, is trying to compromise with the reputation of Thangmeiband or not.
Public should be wary of such individuals and the promises made by them for betterment of the State and lots of its people.
Calling upon the youth of Thangmeiband, Radhabinod said that as denizens of the State who are residing in the heart of Imphal and who are well-educated, they should conduct themselves properly and understand the value of time.
Only when the value of time is understood, an individual can go far, progress in life and move the State ahead in the path of development, he added.
Radhabinod further observed that NCP is not only a National party but also a political party which truly understands the pulse of the people of North East and working for development and peace in the region.
As a partner of the UPA-II Government in the Centre, NCP has been playing major role in this regard, he claimed.
Appealing to the youth who have faith on the principle and ideology of NCP to join when drive for admission to the party is launched, he also informed that party has worked out plans for construction of 100 houses at an estimated cost of Rs 3 lakhs each in Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency, construction of a multipurpose hall at an estimated cost of Rs 1 crore at Khuyathong and a community hall at an estimated cost of Rs 25 lakhs at Sinam Leikai.
Other leaders who spoke at the occasion hailed that despite being an Opposition MLA Radhabinod has been working tirelessly for the development of Thangmeiband A/C not less than what other Ruling MLAs are doing for their respective Constituencies.
