Imphal, October 21 2010:
Member (North East) of Planning Commission, BK Chaturvedi will arrive in Manipur on a three-day visit to review the implementation of developmental programmes under Special Plan Assistance (SPA) on October 30.He will be accompanied by S N Brohmo Choudhury, Adviser (NE), and Planning Commission.
Upon their arrival, the visiting officials will head to Loktak to inspect various works taken up by Loktak Development Authority (LDA) like removal of Phumdis from the Lake .
The Project Director, LDA, will make a powerpoint presentation on the progress of works related to conservation and management of Laktak Lake , said official sources.
On October 31, the Planning Commission officials will visit Moreh to inspect various developmental works like Integrated Check Post (ICP), Trade Centre and Moreh Hospital etc to name a few.
On their way back, they are expected to inspect Thoubal Project.
According to official sources, the delegation will be traveling to Moreh and Thoubal by helicopter.
Upon their return to Imphal, they will attend a review meeting with all Administrative Secretaries and Head of Departments (HODs) at Secretariat Conference Hall.
On the morning of November 1, the visiting officials will inspect work construction of Capital Project, Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Kangla Fort etc.
Finally before the two Planning Commission officials depart for New Delhi, they will join the revelry of Kut Festival (traditional harvest festival of Kuki-Chin-Mizo community of Manipur) at 1st Manipur Riffles (MR) ground.
