A meeting of the �Combined Headquarters' of the security forces was held today with Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh in the chair to discuss deployment of adequate
security to aid BRTF in the road improvement works being taken up along National Highway-53.The meeting attended by 3 Corps Commander of the Army, top officials of
CRPF, Assam Rifles also reviewed the prevailing law and order condition in the State.
Meanwhile, the two officials of the PMO, Joint Secretary Sanjoy Mitra and
Sanjoy Krishna, who arrived here on a three-day visit to take stock of the current situation in the backdrop of the ANSAM stir, have left for the national capital
after meeting the Deputy Commissioner of Senapati district Dr Prem Singh at the latter's office chamber this morning.
When contacted, the DC, however, said that
they discussed only on developmental aspects and the two PMO officials did not meet any ANSAM leaders.
The two visiting officials also called on Governor Dr SS Sidhu
and Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh during their stay here.
Vehicles arrive : In all 75 good laden vehicles arrived at Imphal under security escort through National Highway 39 and another 128 vehicles through National Highway 53 today.
The vehicles coming from National Highway 39 were provided escort by a team of security personnel led by CO of 2 IRB P Manikanta.
All the vehicles arrived at Imphal at around 5.30 am today without any untoward incident along the highway.
Out of the 75 vehicles, 23 are oil tankers, 18 are carrying fertilisers, 2 are carrying LPG and 32 others are carrying other essential commodities.
A team of security personnel led by CO of 2 MR Leirenjao escorted the vehicles coming through National Highway 53.
