Imphal, March 22 2009: With an assurance from the authority not to allow repetition to the incident of sexual harassment meted out by the armed government personnel, the complaint on alleged sexual harassment on five commercial sex workers at a hotel at North AOC has been settled today.

The agreement regarding the complaint lodged to the state DGP on March 6 last by the victim commercial sex workers regarding the alleged sexual harassment on them allegedly by the suspected Thoubal police commandos on the intervening night of March 27 and 28 was brought about in a talk between the victims and officials of the concern police department in presence of third party (negotiator).

The conditions of the agreement while stating that the unfortunate incident was occurred owing to a misunderstanding between the victims and the security personnel and it has been cleared out after discussion and negotiation.

From the police side, it has been agreed to instruct the involved security personnel as well as others not to meted out the acts in future and take responsibility of any repetition of such thing in future.
