Imphal, August 02: Taking into consideration the interest of women and children, ICDS functionaries who had earlier decided to go on a cease work strike to protest the derogatory remarks passed by the Joint Director of the WCD and to demand his re-designation, have deferred its agitation till August 7.The decision to defer the strike was taken after the Social Welfare Minister and Secretary of the Department requested the functionaries to suspend their planned stir in the light of the distribution of Ready to Eat items to children and women.

The Ready to Eat items will be distributed by the ICDS functionaries from August 4.
