Troops of 22 Assam Rifles based at Mao seized two truck loads of timber yesterday from Senapati.
Quoting Assam Rifles authorities, PIB Defence Wing in a statement today said that the two trucks carrying �Banchum� timber were seized by the Assam Rifles troops at Senapati yesterday and added that the quantity of the seized timber is 625 cubic feet.
The worth of the seized timber is Rs 3.75 lakhs said the statement and added that the trucks were bound for Dimapur from Senapati.
The two trucks bearing registration numbers (Tata 1612) MN01 6249 and (Tata 1612) NL01A 9628 along with the drivers have been handed over to the Forest Beat office, Mao, added the statement.
