The state level Gaan-Ngai Celebration Committee, Manipur has expressed gratitude to O.Ibobi Singh, chief minister of Manipur for extending help in the successful completion of the state Gaan-Ngai festival held Tuesday at Bhagyachandra Open Air Theater, Imphal.
Poudongai Kamson, president of the state level Gaan-Ngai Committee appreciated and asserted that the state government led by the 125 year old Indian National Congress deserves loud praises for the positive gesture in declaring general holidays on January 9, 2009 and December 29, 2009 that incorporated �Imoinu Festival� on the said two days.
Maintaining the December month of this year endewed with the blue moon (2 full moon days) and the two holidays for Gaan-Ngai and Imoinu, the president stated that the month being a rare in the history would be remembered for ages to come.
The Committee further conveyed greetings to the people on the New Year eve, most joyful New Year with 2010 being the International Year of bio-diversity.
