As a part of the Military Civic Action programme's 'Op Sadbhavana' an excursion tour for school children of NC Hills was flagged off from Lower Haflong by the Commander 44 Mountain Brigade Brig G Shankar this morning.
The excursion organised under the aegis of the Red Shield Division will provide an opportunity to 50 students and three teachers to visit Delhi, Gurgaon and Agra for a period of two weeks to witness the diversified culture and traditions of other part of the country and also provide an exposure to the social and cultural fabric of the country, informed a PIB (DW) release.
The Commander 44 Mountain Brigade while addressing the students emphasised that the main aim of organising such a tour is to give children of NC an opportunity to see the urban life and development in resurgent India, the release conveyed and quoted the Brigadier as expressing confidence that it would give the children an insight 'into our rich heritage and traditions'.
