Imphal, November 16: Accusing the State govt and PHED authorities of violating High Court directive to follow normal procedure of tender as prescribed by the CPWD manual, invite contractor/agency concerned and cessation of floating new tender during pendency of legal tussle, the Senapati District Contractors� Association demanded that State authorities follow the court�s order.

Elucidating on circumstances leading to filing of a writ petition before the Gauhati High Court, Imphal Bench, the association cited State Government rescinding an earlier order for execution of �Augmentation of Water Supply Scheme� at Senapati district headquarters to mitigate water scarcity problems of the public.

Having perused points raised by parties concerned, the Gauhati High court disposed the case on September 27 wherein directions were issued to follow the CPWD manual during tender/s, said the Association.

Contrary to the Court directive the State and PHED authorities at the behest of vested interest are allowing some individuals to carry on the disputed work as the said contractors are favoured by Ministers and bureaucrats, alleged the Association.
