The proscribed PULF today distributed financial relief to family members of its cadres who had earlier lost their lives while discharging their duties, ahead of the Idul Zuha festival which falls on December 21.On the other hand, the outfit has also warned that it would award fitting punishment to anyone who tries to defile the holy festival.
The financial help was distributed to family members of deceased PULF cadres during a function organised somewhere at Imphal East today by its commander M Babu.
Speaking to newsmen, the general secretary of the outfit, K Ibrahim Qazi said that the financial help is being given ahead of the Idul Zuha festival.
Qazi also called on the Muslim brethren to celebrate the festival in its true perspectives and not defile it.
Other than the function organised at Imphal East today, such similar function wherein monetary help is given to family members of deceased PULF cadres was also held in other parts of the State, he informed.
The outfit will also distribute food and eatables to around 500 families in Imphal East tomorrow, said Qazi.
No one will be allowed to defile the holy festival, said Qazi and added that stern action will be taken up against anyone who defiles it by way of consuming intoxicants on the day, gambling and loitering around in two wheelers in the company of young girls.
The general secretary also appealed to all people to extend cooperation in its efforts to keep the celebration of the festival clean and pure.
