It was clash of two titans that was witnessed by the astounded spectators in the final match of the 10th Sena Cup, 2009, Under 16 Boys District Level Football Tournament played today between the two finalists YPO, Sora and YWU, Kakching Moirangthem.The closing ceremony of the tournament which was organised by the Sena Athletics Organisation (SAO), Kakching Wairi under the District Sports Association (DSA) Kakching, was held at Khunjampat ground, Kakching today.
Minister K Ranjit graced the closing function as chief guest.
MLA Dr U Deven presided over the function.
The final match today was played between YPO, Sora and YWU, kakching Moirangthem.
The match was an interesting match between the two teams.
Both team's players played the match with full coordination among themselves.
Skillfull tactics were displayed by the players of both teams.
It was hard for the players of both team to tackle one another and score goals against each other.
They tried to dominate one another but could not overpower each other.
Spectators witnessed a raging match between the two teams.
They tried at various moments to score goals against one another but cannot edged a single goal in the first half.
As well as they attempted for goal many times, they also defend themselves against the attacks of their opponent team.
The first half ended without a single goal by the two teams.
But in the second half they played the match with new tactics to dominate one another.
The first goal of the match was scored by Md Azamal Ali of YPO to everyone's amazement in the 58th minute.
Spectators roars in the goal of Azamal.
Players of YWU were shocked at the goal of Azamal.
But they did not lose their heart and tried to equalise the score position.
YPO players too tried at their best to defend themselves against the attempts of YWU.
But they could not defend themselves long enough to rotate the destiny of YWU as Rajiv of YWU scored one goal against YPO in the 62nd minute equalising the score position.
After the goal of Rajiv both teams' players played the match with more efforts and firm determination to win the match.
But none could scored any further goal against each other and the match concluded as a drawn match.But YPO won the match in the tie breaking kick by 8-7.
Md Sahir Khan of YPO hit two goals agains YWU in the tie break.
Md Azamal Ali, Md Alimuddin, Md Sikander, Md Saddam.
Md Intiyas, Md Safikur (goalkeeper) also strike one goal each against YWU in the tie break.
On the other hand, Rajiv, Robinson, Minaketan, Roshan, Alex and N Ajitkumar of YWU striked one goal each against YPO in the tie break.
N Susangka striked one goal and missed one and lose the match to YPO by one goal.
Roshan of YWU, Md Gulbuddin and Md Saddam of YPO were issed a yellow card each by the centre referee for their unsporting behaviour during the match.
SWC, Waikhong was awarded the title of best fair play team.
Md Azamal Ali of YPO won best scorer's title.
N Susangka of YWU won best defender's title.
N Ajitkumar of YWU won the title of best goalkeeper.
The best player's title was awarded to S Ratan of SWC, Waikhong.
Md Sikander of YPO was awarded the title of man of the final match.
