State health and family welfare minister, Ph Parijat today has appealed the people to stop voting in favour of the candidate who can pay money and woo the electors for a revolution in the administration system and bring forward the society towards development.The minister speaking at the 13 local conference of the CPI Keirao Local Council held at the resident of Ngangbam Robindro further said that voting in favour of those candidates who think of winning the election by distributing money to the elector will drag down the society backward.
Once, a candidate wins election with money, he will not do anything for the betterment of the society as it is sure to earn money by any means when he is in power to return the money he invested at the time of election.
So, people should choose the candidate who will do goods for the society and state, he said.
He also observed that in the election to the state Assembly, CPI candidates could not win more five to six seats as its candidates are poor and did not invest money to woo the voters.
He also while revealing that for improving healthcare service of the people, committees led by the representatives of the people and comprising members of the local have been formed to monitor the functioning of the primary health centres with a fund of Rs.10,000 to them.
People have the rights to check whether the money funded to the committees are utilizing in proper ways, he said adding that government will also conduct various awareness programmes on healthcare for the women and youths.
He also assured that he will inspect the government run healthcare centres located within the Kerao Kendra to fulfill the wishes of the people of the constituency.The conference of the local council was also attended by former MLA, Dr M Nara who is likely the candidate of the CPI for in forthcoming Lok Sabha election to the inner Parliamentary constituency, Imphal east district secretary of the party Angousana and other leaders of the Keirao area and CPI members.
Speaking to the gathering, Dr Nara said even though CPI as partner of the SPF government in the state wanted to take up various developmental and welfare programmes of the people, could not translate into action as Congress party is the majority in the coalition government.
He also recounted CPI withdraw of support the UPA government at the Centre on Nuclear Deal issue and said that since then the common minimum programme of the coalition government.
